The U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies are responding to a 59-foot pusher tug that sank Tuesday night approximately 3 miles off North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The vessel reportedly has 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel on board, prompting concerns regarding potential environmental impacts. So far there are no reports of shoreline impacts.
Horry County Fire Rescue personnel rescued the three crew members aboard the tug.
The salvage operation for the vessel is ongoing. The tug is located in about 30 feet of water.
The name of the tug is unknown at this time.
